Weld Boxes

Weld Boxes usually have three clevises mounted on a self centering chuck, which provides simultaneous adjustment of all three weld rolls about the centerline. The entire chuck assembly is subplate mounted to provide vertical adjustment for various tube size centerline heights. Two of the clevis sets are slide mounted with individual lead screw adjustment to compensate for edge mismatch and to allow quick initial set-up. The unit is designed so the chuck will mount two top rolls at a matching angle in a “Y” configuration creating a gap between the two top rolls for relief of the weld seam. Its’ chuck can be unbolted, rotated 60 degrees and remounted to provide orientation of a single roll at top dead center. The top roll would then require a groove to accommodate relief for the weld seam squeeze out or upset.
